Overview
At HealthMerch, we help health organizations connect with the communities they serve.
We work with hospital systems, community health centers, public health departments, harm reduction programs, advocacy organizations, and more. Our promotional products and apparel help them strengthen their Reputation, expand their Reach, Recognize their people, Recruit talent, and Retain their teams.
Because merch is more than a giveaway. The tote bag at a health fair. The T-shirt at a community walk. The water bottle a nurse carries for years. For a lot of people, that product is one of the first tangible interactions they'll have with a health organization. Our job is to make sure it builds trust.
We're hiring an Account Manager to own a group of client relationships from first conversation to delivered order, and to grow them year after year. You'll start with existing accounts and a steady flow of warm leads from our marketing team and conferences. Your job is to make those clients feel looked after, bring back their reorders, and turn one-time buyers into long-term partners.
Why This Role
- A book to start with: You inherit active accounts and reorder opportunities, so you're not building from zero.
- Warm leads, not cold lists: Our marketing team, conferences, and existing clients keep your pipeline full.
- A real team behind you: Sales support, design, and production handle sourcing, mockups, and order details, so you can spend your time on clients.
- Pay that rewards growth: $60,000 - $75,000 base + uncapped commission | First-year OTE $85,000 - $100,000+. Your income grows as your accounts grow.
- Meaningful work: Every order supports an organization doing important work, from HIV prevention to vaccine drives to recognizing healthcare workers.
- Perks & benefits: 20 days PTO (7 holidays + 13 earned), health insurance contribution, 401(k) with company match, and a company-provided laptop.
- Remote, with travel: Work from anywhere in the US. Represent HealthMerch at 7 to 10 health conferences a year (about 15 travel days), all travel covered.
What You'll Do
Own and grow your accounts
- Be the main point of contact for a portfolio of healthcare clients.
- Learn each client's calendar (health fairs, awareness months, onboarding cycles, staff recognition) and reach out before they need something.
- Drive reorders, bring new departments and programs into existing accounts, and reconnect with past clients.
- Make about 50 dials a day to your accounts, past clients, conference contacts, and warm leads. Our best client relationships are built in conversation, not email chains.
Win new business from warm leads
- Respond fast to inbound leads and conference contacts.
- Run discovery on audience, event, budget, and in-hand date, then recommend products that fit the goal, not just the budget.
- Build quotes and presentations that make it easy to say yes.
Run orders without dropping details
- Manage many live orders at once, each with its own deadline, budget, and decoration specs.
- Work with sales support, design, and production on sourcing, mockups, and proofs. You own the client relationship and the outcome; our team helps carry the details.
- Confirm pricing, minimums, decoration options, and lead times with suppliers.
- When something goes wrong (and in promo, something always does), tell the client early and bring a solution.
- Keep HubSpot and our order systems accurate and current.
Represent HealthMerch at conferences
- Work our booth at 7 to 10 health conferences a year: start conversations, qualify buyers, and capture leads.
- Follow up after every show and turn those contacts into clients.
What You Bring
- 3+ years managing B2B client accounts , with a revenue or retention goal you were measured on. Tell us the numbers.
- Custom, deadline-driven orders. You've managed projects with specs, proofs, and hard in-hand dates: promo, print, apparel, signage, events, packaging, or similar.
- A track record of growing accounts , not just keeping them. You can name a client you expanded and how.
- Organized under volume. You can run 20+ open projects at once and still know where every one stands.
- Comfortable on the phone and in person. You'd rather call a client than send a fourth email, and you can hold your own in a booth full of strangers.
- Tech fluent. You learn new tools fast, live in your CRM, and already use AI tools like ChatGPT or Claude to work faster.
- Clear writer. Your emails are short, accurate, and easy to act on.
This role is not for you if:
- You want a pure hunting role with no order follow-through.
- You'd rather hand off problems than own them.
- You're looking for your first sales job.
- Traveling about 15 days a year is a dealbreaker.
Nice to Have
- Promotional products, branded apparel, or print industry experience.
- Familiarity with ESP, SAGE, or major suppliers.
- HubSpot experience.
- Experience selling to healthcare, nonprofit, or community organizations.
- Spanish fluency.
Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States.
