Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or 5+ years of commercial insurance experience.
• Valid South Carolina Property and Casualty Insurance license.
• Completion of SISR Elite, CIC, or other advanced designations.

Responsibilities

• Market, quote and prepare proposals reflecting risk-management approaches.
• Provide day-to-day service and respond in a timely manner.

• Complete account reviews and explore additional commercial/personal lines.
• Keep clients updated on changes affecting coverage.
• Communicate professionally with clients, teams and carriers.
• Maintain confidentiality of client records.

About The Role

The Commercial Lines Large Account Manager will have a primary responsibility for policy maintenance and service of an assigned portion of accounts. The role focuses on maintaining a high level of client retention by managing day‑to‑day service needs, cultivating strong client relationships, and contributing to profitable growth through retention, renewal and proactive account rounding.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain strong relationships, assisting client advisors in decisions on account updates and coverage for mid‑size to large accounts.
• Collaborate with client advisors to review exposures and insurance programs, ensuring the best carrier fit for the client.
• Market, quote and prepare proposals that reflect the best risk‑management approach.
• Provide day‑to‑day service, anticipate client needs and respond in a timely manner.
• Handle initial reporting of claims and follow‑up to ensure proper progress and client satisfaction.
• Monitor carrier activities to ensure fulfillment of responsibilities such as endorsements and claims.
• Complete account reviews and attempt to round‑out each portfolio, including solicitation of additional commercial and personal lines when applicable.
• Keep clients updated on pending changes that may impact coverage.
• Assist or complete additional tasks directed by platform management.
• Communicate professionally and accurately with clients, teams and carriers.
• Maintain confidentiality of client records and communications.
• Seek referrals and follow through to generate new business.
• Refer prospective clients to the Benefits Department and Personal Insurance lines.
• Coach and mentor junior members, potentially leading team meetings and initiatives.
• Comply with agency standards, policies and procedures.

Requirements

• Strong verbal and written communication skills with correct grammar, spelling and punctuation.
• High level of understanding of accounting or strong math skills.
• Critical thinking and problem‑solving ability when answers are not obvious.
• Attention to detail, producing outcomes with minimal error.
• Ability to adapt to change and priority in a fast‑paced environment.
• Advanced proficiency with technology, including MS Office.
• Knowledge of Agency Management Systems; Applied Epic is a plus.
• Ability to function independently and as part of a team.
• Compliance with continuing education for agent licensing and professional designations.
• Staying informed on industry news, production information, coverages and technology to enhance knowledge.

Education / Experience

• Bachelor’s degree or 5+ years of commercial insurance experience, or recognized equivalent.
• Valid South Carolina Property and Casualty Insurance license.
• Completion of SISR Elite, CIC, or other advanced designations.
