Job summary

Enerflex Ltd. in Houston seeks a Sales Engineer to lead the sales effort on refrigeration, gas processing and related projects.

You will coordinate with applications engineers to develop technical and commercial proposals and ensure timely, cost-effective quotations. The role requires a Mechanical or Chemical Engineering degree with 5–10 years of relevant experience, strong networking skills, and a willingness to travel.

Qualifications

  • Mechanical or Chemical Engineering degree required; 5–10 years of related experience.
  • Knowledge of refrigeration and rotating equipment fundamentals.
  • Excellent networking and customer relationship skills.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and under pressure.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the development of sales strategies leading to successful orders.
  • Maintain customer base within market area of focus and identify potential projects for Enerflex.
  • Network and develop relationships with customers to promote Enerflex brand and capabilities.
  • Demonstrate benefits of Enerflex products to prospective customers.
  • Review project documentation and prepare budgetary quotations as needed.
  • Liaise with applications engineers to develop and submit proposals to customers.
  • Review project commercial terms and liaise with legal and commercial teams as needed.
  • Stay engaged with customers and factory during project execution; ensure customer and company satisfaction.
  • Travel and work non-standard hours as required; uphold HSE policy.

Job description

Enerflex is a single-source supplier of products and services to the global oil, gas and petrochemical industry. We provide gas compression and processing as well as process refrigeration equipment to all major oil and gas companies operating in upstream, midstream and downstream market segments. Enerflex supports its operations through corporate, regional and field office infrastructure throughout the world.

Refrigeration and Downstream Department focuses on refrigeration systems and refrigeration compression equipment utilizing primarily oil-flooded screw and centrifugal compressors, as well as systems for boil-off gas and LPG export/import facilities. The department also handles specialty gas (hydrogen, fuel gas, CO₂) systems utilizing screw and reciprocating compressors. Customers include major oil & gas companies, petrochemical facilities, offshore installations and large EPC contractors.

The department’s team consists of highly skilled and motivated mechanical and chemical sales and applications engineers. It attracts the best engineers in the industry and offers exposure to the latest technology in the oil, gas and petrochemical markets.

Sales Engineer will be responsible for leading the sales effort on projects and products described above. The position is supported by a team of applications engineers skilled in technical design, system optimization and cost estimation. Typically, the applications engineer will develop system design and technical/commercial proposals as required by the customer based on feedback from the sales engineer.

Principle Responsibilities and Duties
  • Contribute to the development of sales strategies leading to successful orders
  • Maintain customer base within market area of focus and be aware of potential projects suitable for execution by Enerflex
  • Network and develop relationships with customers to further the Enerflex brand reputation and promise
  • Be able to demonstrate the benefits of Enerflex products to prospective customers
  • Review project documentation and prepare budgetary quotations as necessary
  • Liaison with applications engineer to develop and submit proposals to customers
  • Review project commercial T&Cs and provide comments as necessary; liaise with Enerflex legal and commercial teams as needed
  • Stay engaged with the customer and the factory during project execution; assure projects are executed to customer and company satisfaction
  • Travel and work non‑standard hours, including evenings and weekends as required
  • Abide by and promote company HSE policy
Qualifications
  • Mechanical or Chemical Engineering degree with a minimum of 5–10 years of relevant work experience
  • Knowledgeable in refrigeration and rotating equipment fundamentals
  • Excellent networking and customer relationship skills
  • Demonstrated ethical behavior
  • Organized with attention to detail
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Self‑motivated, team oriented, capable of learning, managing time and priorities, and operating well under pressure with little supervision
