REMOTE: May live anywhere in Wisconsin.

Talis Group’s client develops chemical based solutions for clients pursuing their environmental stability goals and is looking for an Account Manager in the Wisconsin region to join their team. You do not necessarily need a sales background. If you have wastewater treatment / operational experience, biology, chemistry, or agricultural background and enjoy building relationships and providing environmental solutions in a true team environment, this may be a great match for you! This company is well established and has experienced consistent growth over the past 30 years in business. The company’s clients primarily consist of food manufacturers and rendering plants that may need solutions for their wastewater or clean air initiatives. This position will be responsible for actively engaging with customers and prospects to assess needs and develop winning strategies.

$80 - $100k base plus bonus/commissions. This requires 75% travel to the regional area -– about 3 days a week of travel with some overnight.
Highlighted Responsibilities:
  • Consult with clients, gain an understanding of their needs, and develop tailored solutions for them.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing customers, providing exceptional customer service and addressing any concerns or issues promptly.
  • Visit clients monthly to build relationships, service equipment (if needed) and ensure appropriate product inventory.
  • Identify and target potential customers in the industrial sector who can benefit from the company’s environmental solutions.
  • Collaborate closely with the company to stay up to date with product knowledge and provide accurate information to customers.
  • Conduct extensive market research to understand customer needs, industry trends, and competitive landscape to develop effective sales strategies.
  • Prepare and deliver persuasive sales presentations, product demonstrations, and proposals to key decision-makers within target organizations.
  • Negotiate pricing, terms, and agreements to maximize sales opportunities and secure long-term partnerships with customers.
  • Provide regular sales reports, market feedback, and forecasts to the sales management team, highlighting opportunities and challenges in the market.
Highlighted Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as agriculture, chemistry, biology, or similar experience preferred.
  • Ability to understand and/or quickly learn chemical/biological products and solutions.
  • Experience working inside a wastewater, food or rendering manufacturing plant.
  • Ability to work outside occasionally in a dirty environment.
  • Travel to customers 50-75% of the time primarily from Green Bay, WI to potentially Dubuque, Iowa - typically travelling 3 days a week.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively convey technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships, and a customer-centric mindset.
  • Self-motivated and driven to achieve sales targets and exceed customer expectations.
