This role focuses on developing new business, strengthening existing relationships, and ensuring profitable expansion within Local and Regional Builders, Design Studios, and National Accounts. The ideal candidate proactively builds a robust pipeline, drives account-level profitability through pricing and product strategies, and maintains balance across all customer segments to meet branch and company performance goals.

Essential Functions
Business Development & Revenue Growth
  • Develop and secure new business through consistent prospecting, networking, and relationship-building.
  • Achieve the expectation of closing one new account every three months, defined as either a new community with an existing customer or a new SAP account number approved through the Bid Review Process.
  • Maintain an active Account Target List that serves as the strategic focal point for portfolio growth.
  • Prepare and manage bids, take-offs, job change orders, pricing verifications, and formal presentations for target accounts.
  • Assist with cost estimates for proposals, as assigned.
  • Provide special quotes and support for Design Studios and Builder customers.
  • Identify opportunities for product expansion, merchandising improvements, and enhanced revenue streams.
  • Participate in margin-enhancement initiatives across assigned accounts.
Account Management & Customer Relations
  • Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with builders, design consultants, stakeholders, and key decision-makers.
  • Serve as the account-level advocate and escalation point for billing inquiries, specifications, pricing adjustments, and customer resolutions.
  • Maintain bid details and organized bid folders for future reference, including price updates and construction-related change orders.
  • Manage contract execution to ensure all agreements, change orders, and pricing documentation are completed within 30 days.
  • Promote products supported by the Branch Operations team and ensure alignment with customer needs.
  • Support collection efforts as required, reinforcing contractual and payment expectations.
Operations & Collaboration
  • Coordinate closely with Design Consultants, Order Processors, and Production Managers to ensure accurate execution of installation and service needs.
  • Oversee proper planning and coordination of job efforts from order entry through installation.
  • Submit pipeline and forecast reporting by designated deadlines.
  • Adhere strictly to the Bid Review Process and all related procedural guidelines.
  • Maintain accurate records of specifications, bids, pricing actions, and change orders for assigned accounts.
  • Remain responsive to billing questions, pricing requests, and job specifications to support customer and internal needs.
  • Travel as required to support customer meetings, project reviews, and business development opportunities.
Education & Experience

Required: High school diploma or GED. 3–5 years of experience in account management, construction, or the building materials industry; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field. Experience working with builders, design studios, or multi-segment construction accounts. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and builder floor plans.

Skills & Competencies
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with customers, peers, and leadership.
  • Proven ability to identify issues, resolve conflicts, and deliver strategic, relationship-strengthening solutions.
  • Strong organizational and time management capabilities, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and related business technology systems.
  • Customer-focused mindset with an emphasis on relationship development and portfolio performance.
  • Strong business and financial acumen with the ability to analyze margin impacts and revenue outcomes.
  • Skilled in negotiation, persuasion, and account-level strategic planning.
