OpenGov is a leader in AI-enabled software for government entities, serving over 2,000 communities across the U.S. Our platform supports asset management, permitting, licensing, procurement, financial management, and more, designed specifically for the public sector. We aim to make government operations more efficient, adaptable, and trustworthy.

Job Summary

The Account Executive - Team Lead will spearhead sales efforts for ERP and multi-suite solutions within their territory, including planning, prospecting, lead generation, sales calls, managing the sales cycle, proposals, and closing deals. They will collaborate with product-specific Account Executives to achieve sales targets and uphold high standards of integrity and customer service. They will also drive growth strategies by partnering across the organization, including with SDRs and Marketing.

Responsibilities
  • Lead sales efforts for ERP and multi-suite opportunities, developing account strategies and coordinating pre-sales teams.
  • Define and own territory plans, focusing on key accounts.
  • Collaborate with team members to meet sales goals and support new and existing customers.
  • Build and manage relationships with senior government leaders.
  • Generate leads through networking, prospecting, and marketing activities.
  • Deliver sales presentations to various organizational levels within government entities.
  • Develop deep knowledge of our products and client verticals.
  • Address use cases, benefits, and competitive advantages to facilitate sales.
  • Engage in target account selling, including qualification, negotiation, and closing.
  • Maintain relationships across organizational levels and develop referenceable clients.
  • Coordinate with marketing on demand-generation campaigns and events.
  • Manage sales processes and participate in planning and review meetings.
  • Stay informed on product offerings and competitive landscape.
  • Achieve or exceed sales quotas.
Requirements and Preferred Experience
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • At least 4 years of quota-carrying software sales experience, preferably with government vertical knowledge.
  • Strong work ethic, hunter mentality, and ability to thrive collaboratively.
  • Curiosity, coachability, and leadership qualities for coaching others.
  • Proven success in closing complex deals and exceeding quotas.
  • Willingness to travel up to 50%.
  • Passion for technology and societal impact.
  • Ability to engage with senior executives and manage transformational projects.
  • Self-motivated, creative, results-driven, and solution-oriented.
  • Competitive drive and adaptability during change.
  • Excellent written communication skills.
  • Experience with CRM systems, ideally Salesforce.
Compensation

$180K – $200K including base salary and performance-based variable pay. Final compensation depends on qualifications, expertise, and location.
