About the Role: This role focuses on expanding Britannica Education's presence in K-12 schools through our education products and services. We seek experienced and entrepreneurial sales professionals eager to sell our supplemental curriculum solutions. You will manage all sales cycle stages, from prospecting to closing, and coordinate with our customer success team during implementation.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Revenue growth by promoting and selling supplemental educational programs and services to schools, educational institutions, and district administrators.
  2. Build and maintain strong customer relationships, understanding their needs and providing tailored solutions aligned with their educational goals.
  3. Identify and pursue new sales opportunities by prospecting and generating leads through various channels and internal resources.
  4. Adopt a consultative selling approach to understand each customer's unique needs and challenges. Present and demonstrate how Britannica Education's solutions can address their specific requirements.
  5. Develop a comprehensive understanding of Britannica Education's supplemental curriculum products, features, and benefits. Stay current with industry trends and product enhancements.
  6. Lead contract negotiations with customers, ensuring mutually beneficial terms that meet the institution's needs and Britannica Education's business objectives.
  7. Collaborate with sales, marketing, and product development teams to align efforts with company strategies and market demands.
  8. Represent Britannica Education at industry conferences, trade shows, and educational events to network and build brand awareness.
  9. Use Salesforce effectively to generate reports for management, including weekly, monthly, forecasts, and pipeline reports.
  10. Meet or exceed sales targets and quotas set by the company.

Requirements:

  • Proactive, with a hunter mentality and strong independence to drive revenue.
  • Knowledge of the education industry and existing relationships to leverage.
  • Proven success in supplemental curriculum sales, especially in Science and Social Studies.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong communication and presentation abilities.
  • Willingness to attend in-person meetings and events, despite remote work.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce and Google Suite.
  • Growth mindset, insatiable curiosity, and love of learning.
  • Minimum 3-5+ years of educational sales experience.

Remote candidates should be prepared to travel for customer meetings and industry events. Britannica HQ is located in Chicago, Illinois.
