Job summary

MetLife seeks a National Accounts Account Executive to manage large employer clients (5,000+ lives) within Group Benefits. You’ll own the account strategy, deliver integrated solutions, and drive profitable growth while collaborating with sales, underwriting, service, and product teams.

You will lead cross-functional efforts, nurture broker and consultant relationships, and oversee financial and risk management for top-tier accounts in a matrixed environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a related field, with 5–10+ years in employee benefits or insurance.
• Proven success managing large, complex client relationships and delivering strong outcomes.
• Deep knowledge of Group Benefits products, services, and industry practices.
• Ability to sell, negotiate, and close complex business deals.
• Active Life & Health license (or ability to obtain) and required securities registrations.

The Opportunity

The National Accounts Account Executive is responsible for managing, growing, and retaining a portfolio of large, complex employer clients (5,000+ lives) within the Group Benefits segment. The Account Executive serves as the primary relationship owner and leads overall account strategy, ensuring delivery of integrated benefits solutions while driving profitable growth.

This role operates in a highly matrixed environment, partnering across sales, underwriting, service, and product teams to deliver best‑in‑class outcomes for clients and brokers.

Required Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to sell, negotiate, and close complex business deals.

The expected salary range for this position is $78,000 – $104,000. This role may also be eligible for annual short‑term incentive compensation and stock‑based long‑term incentives. All incentives and benefits are subject to the applicable plan terms.
