The Role

We’re looking for a driven, entrepreneurial Account Executive to join our founding sales team. You’ll own the full sales cycle—from outreach to close—engaging directly with childcare center directors and administrators via phone, email, and video.

This is a primarily inside sales role, conducted remotely, but may include occasional travel to conferences or key markets to meet customers in person. You’ll help build the playbook, influence go-to-market strategy, and set a high bar for performance—while positioning yourself to grow into a future team lead role.

Responsibilities
  • Own the full inside sales cycle: prospect, qualify, demo, and close new childcare centers remotely.
  • Maintain a high daily activity volume (80+ outbound touches via phone, email, etc.).
  • Conduct thoughtful discovery and explain Upkid’s value proposition in clear, compelling terms.
  • Help refine sales scripts, talk tracks, and objection handling as we scale outreach.
  • Keep CRM (HubSpot or similar) clean and up-to-date—track pipeline, activities, and conversion metrics.
  • Collaborate with marketing on lead feedback and campaign performance.
  • Gather and share customer insights with product and operations teams.
  • Represent Upkid at occasional conferences or in-market meetings as opportunities arise.
  • Set the tone for future team members—act like a leader before you have the title.
What We’re Looking For
  • 2–5 years of B2B inside sales experience (full-cycle AE or SDR-to-AE), ideally in a startup or SMB-focused SaaS company.
  • Proven ability to meet/exceed quota and build a healthy pipeline through both inbound and outbound efforts.
  • Comfortable selling to non-technical audiences—warm, persuasive, and empathetic.
  • Sales athlete mindset: you embrace call quality, conversion data, and script iteration.
  • You’re energized by structure-building, not just executing what’s already defined.
  • Strong ownership mentality, great communication skills, and a deep belief in Upkid’s mission.
  • Bonus: Experience selling into childcare, education, or multi-location SMBs.
  • Bonus: Direct experience working in the childcare industry is a strong plus.
