Job summary

Ruder Finn is seeking an Account Executive for its Healthcare Practice to drive high-impact communications programs for healthcare clients. You will support disease awareness, data milestones, influencer programs, and conversations shaping the healthcare landscape.

You’ll collaborate with senior leaders and teams to manage day-to-day activity, contribute ideas, and deliver programs that meet client goals with a culture of precision and curiosity. Preferred locations include IL, NY, CA.

Qualifications

  • 1+ year in Communications or Public Relations; healthcare/pharma preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, or a related field.
  • Strong writing, verbal, and presentation skills.
  • Working knowledge of the MLR process; proficiency in Veeva or similar platforms.
  • Understanding of data/regulatory processes (clinical trial phases, FDA approvals).
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines.
  • Curiosity with AI tools in communications/workflows.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office: Word, PowerPoint, Excel.
  • Ability to work in a team and take ownership of tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Write, edit, and proofread content including press releases, social content, pitch letters, facts sheets, speeches, and client comms.
  • Understand client business, strategy, products, customers, and competitors.
  • Create thumb-stopping social content and basic social media guidance across platforms.
  • Collaborate with studio and creative teams on content.
  • Conduct media relations: monitoring, trend flagging, media lists, analysis, and outreach.

We’re looking for a talented Account Executive to join our Healthcare Practice and help bring high-impact communications programs to life for a range of healthcare clients. In this role, you’ll support campaigns that drive disease awareness, amplify data milestones, activate social and influencer programs, and help shape meaningful conversations across the healthcare landscape.

As an Account Executive, you’ll work closely with senior leaders, clients, and integrated teams to manage day-to-day account activity, contribute creative ideas, and execute strategic programs that deliver against client goals. You’ll be part of a collaborative, fast-moving team that values curiosity, precision, and fresh thinking.

Key Responsibilities
  • Write, edit, and proofread high-quality content including press releases, social media and blog posts, pitch letters, fact sheets, speeches, presentations, and client correspondence

  • Develop solid understanding of client business and their competitive environments, including business strategy, products and services, key customers and competitors

  • Create thumb-stopping social media content and a basic understanding of social media guidance for a variety of platforms (including LinkedIn, X, Instagram, and Facebook)

  • Collaborate with studio and creative teams to develop compelling content

  • Conduct media relations efforts, including thorough media monitoring, proactively flagging relevant trends and articles, developing media lists, pulling analysis reports using tools such as Cision, Trendkite, Google Alerts, etc., and conducting media outreach

  • Support daily interaction with clients and prospects, work collaboratively with team members to achieve client objectives, help develop strategic recommendations, anticipate challenges and ensure deadline and budget are met

Qualifications
  • A minimum of 1+ years of experience in Communications or Public Relations; previous experience within healthcare or pharma preferred

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, or a related field

  • Strong writing, verbal, and presentation skills

  • Working knowledge of the MLR process, including proficiency in using platforms such as Veeva

  • Base understanding of data/regulatory processes (e.g., clinical trial phases, FDA approvals)

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and meet tight and sometimes conflicting deadlines

  • Curiosity and comfort with integrating AI tools into communications and workflows

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)

  • Ability to work as a member of a team and take ownership of tasks

The anticipated salary range for this position, at the time of posting, is $57,000 - $67,000. The salary of the applicant selected for this role will be based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, education, internal equity, geography, relevant years of experience, certifications, skills, abilities of the selected applicant, and other job-related qualifications. In addition, a range of medical, dental, vision, disability, 401(k) matching, paid time off, and/or other benefits also are available by the company.
