Account Executive (Corrections, Community-based Partners, Workforce Development, Chambers of Commerce) – Remote with Travel

Workbay is a mission-driven SaaS company revolutionizing workforce development, adult education, and reentry services. Our interactive career development platform connects job seekers, educators, and employers, providing tools for career navigation, skills development, and job placement. We partner with government agencies, workforce boards, corrections, and educational institutions to drive meaningful impact.

This role will start as a singular key account executive position, working closely with our President, CEO, and CSO, as well as our community implementors and client success managers. You will play a crucial role in building and systemizing the sales process, refining our approach to market expansion, and driving revenue growth. Success in this role may lead to expanding the sales team as needed.

You will be instrumental in building and systemizing the sales process, refining our market expansion strategies, and driving revenue growth. About the Role:

As an Account Executive, you will be responsible for building relationships, managing complex sales cycles, and closing deals with executive decision-makers across workforce development agencies, corrections, community-based partners, chambers of commerce, and government organizations. Your goal is to drive revenue growth through prospecting, expanding partnerships, and managing a robust sales pipeline.

This role requires:
  • Experience in enterprise-level, consultative sales with multi-stakeholder engagement.
  • A successful track record in Economic Development, Workforce Development, and/or Corrections sales (or related government/nonprofit sectors).
  • Ability to independently manage the full sales cycle—from lead generation to contract signing.
  • Strong CRM experience (HubSpot preferred) and pipeline management skills.
  • An entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Willingness to travel for in-person meetings, conferences, and stakeholder engagements.
What You’ll Do:
  • Prospect & Develop New Business: Identify and engage potential clients in workforce, education, and corrections sectors.
  • Manage Complex Sales Cycles: Navigate multi-stakeholder environments with long sales processes.
  • Close Deals & Drive Revenue: Meet or exceed sales quotas.
  • Build & Expand Relationships: Maintain and grow existing partnerships.
  • Pipeline & CRM Management: Use HubSpot to track and optimize sales efforts.
  • Market Expansion: Leverage networks and develop new industry opportunities.
  • Systemize & Scale Sales Operations: Develop scalable sales strategies to support team growth.
  • Travel as Needed: Attend industry events, meet clients, and support sales initiatives (travel budget provided).
  • Hire and Train new Sales Associates.
Who You Are:
  • A proven closer with experience selling to executive decision-makers.
  • A strategic thinker capable of navigating long sales cycles and complex deals.
  • A relationship builder with connections in Corrections, Economic Development, and/or Workforce Development (preferred).
  • A self-starter thriving in a fast-paced, startup environment.
  • Someone who understands pipeline management and consultative, solution-based selling nuances.
Compensation & Benefits:
  • Base Salary: $90,000 - $110,000
  • Commission: Uncapped, with OTE up to $200,000
  • Remote Work + Travel (as needed for meetings and events)
