Don’t send a generic resume — generate a resume and cover letter tailored to this exact role.
Housing.Cloud is seeking an Account Executive to own the full sales cycle from discovery to contract in higher education and government sectors across the US. You will run outbound, qualify opportunities, deliver demos, navigate RFPs, and close multi-month deals with procurement processes.
Join a fast-growing startup, work with leadership, collaborate with marketing and product, and contribute to a scalable sales motion.
Housing.Cloud is reimagining how colleges and universities run student housing — modern, intuitive software built with and for today’s most forward-thinking institutions.
We’re a fast-growing, venture-backed startup supported by top investors, including Bienville Capital. Today, we serve 65+ institutions and 400,000+ students across the US, helping colleges and universities manage the full student housing experience — from applications and assignments to billing, occupancy, and resident communications.
We compete against legacy players like StarRez, Adirondack, and manual, piecemeal solutions like Excel and Google Forms, and we’re winning. We’re growing into the category-defining platform for residential operations in higher ed — think of it as building the residential equivalent of a SIS, but for everything the SIS never captured.
We operate transparently — our handbook, values, sales methodology, strategy, and roadmap are open to every employee. We’re a small team, so you’ll work directly with the founder and have real influence on how we sell.
The RoleWe’re looking for a full-cycle Account Executive who has sold into higher education, government, or similarly procurement-heavy institutional markets — and who actually liked it.
You’ll own deals from qualified opportunity to signed contract, with comfort jumping into outbound and account development when needed. That means discovery, demos, deal strategy, RFP navigation, committee-based decisions, procurement, and close. You know how to run a deal that takes 9–18 months without losing momentum — and you know how to drive toward signature when a deal is ready.
This is a hands-on, high-impact role on a small, growing GTM team. You’ll have support from leadership, sales operations, and team members focused on discovery/demo support, but success here requires comfort creating opportunities, building relationships with administrators, and managing a pipeline with patience, precision, and follow-through.
What You’ll DoOwn your pipeline end to end — from qualified opportunity through close, with outbound support as needed
Run outbound to housing directors, VPs of student affairs, and residence life leaders at colleges and universities across the US
Lead discovery calls and product demos
Navigate RFP processes, procurement requirements, and multi-stakeholder committee decisions
Manage deals in HubSpot with clean, accurate records and consistent next-step updates
Collaborate with our sales ops team for quotes, decks, CRM support, and administrative needs
Work with leadership on deal strategy for larger or complex accounts
Drive larger opportunities forward, with a focus on building and closing deals that can materially move ARR
Partner with Marketing, Product, Customer Success, and Sales Operations to refine messaging, improve demos, and turn market feedback into a stronger sales motion
Assist with follow-up from conferences, webinars, regional events, and higher-ed campaigns
Help develop repeatable playbooks for selling into housing, residence life, student affairs, and campus operations
You know how to create momentum in markets where buying cycles can be slow. You don’t wait for the process to move itself — you find the right person, identify the real problem, create urgency, and keep the conversation moving with clear next steps.
You can turn a territory list into real conversations: identify the right schools, map stakeholders, find an internal champion, write relevant outreach, follow up without sounding generic, and stick with promising accounts even when the path in is not obvious.
You’re persistent without being pushy. You know when to call, when to email, when to ask for an intro, when to reframe the value, and when to bring in leadership to help move a deal forward.
What We’re Looking ForMust have:
3+ years of full-cycle B2B SaaS sales
Direct experience selling into higher education, government, or institutional markets with long procurement cycles
Comfort with RFPs, committee-based decisions, and 9–18 month deal timelines
Ability to build pipeline through outbound work — not just wait for warm introductions
Organized pipeline management in HubSpot or a similar CRM
Strong written and verbal communication
Strong closing discipline — able to manage next steps, create urgency, and move late-stage opportunities to signed contracts
Curiosity and consultative judgment — you can understand how different schools manage housing, operations, and the student experience
Strong digital fluency and ability to quickly learn new tools, workflows, and product details
Proactive, accountable, and comfortable operating in a transparent startup environment
Strong plus:
Sold into housing, residence life, student affairs, student services, or campus operations
Experience at a company competing against legacy or incumbent software
Has navigated SUNY, state system, or multi-school consortium deals
Understands how IT and end-user buyers interact in university purchasing decisions
Experience using a structured sales methodology such as MEDDIC, MEDDPICC, Challenger, or similar
Base: $75,000
Commission: $75,000 target variable
OTE: ~$150,000
Location: Remote, US preferred
Travel: Occasional travel for conferences, events, campus visits, and late-stage customer meetings
Benefits: Paid time off, health insurance, dental insurance, and additional perks
