Job description
Overview

The award winning Afar sales team is looking for an additional member to prospect, identify and engage new accounts to Afar across platforms not limited to digital, print, social, audio, events and more. In addition to owning account relationships, this position will aid in various responsibilities within the sales department to ensure we are meeting our annual team goals. Candidates should have excellent project management skills and show resourcefulness in creating solutions.

We’re looking for a self-starter with a consultative sales approach who is proactive in driving revenue and increasing client base. Managing the end to end sales process is a requirement. Organization, time management, and attention to detail will be critical to deliver success!

Responsibilities
  • Meet and exceed revenue goal across Afar platforms within assigned territory, agency and/or categories
  • Identify sales prospects and work on prospect strategy with larger sales team
  • Host virtual and in-person presentations and meetings with new and renewal clients
  • Own print ad communication with the production team – including advertiser lists, placements, print order requests and any special instructions.
  • Report business performance, status and trends to assigned accounts
  • Fielding research requests from broader sales/marketing team and liaise upon request
  • Assist with special projects as needed (promotional mailings, email segmentation, etc.)
Qualifications
  • 2-3 years general administrative experience, media, PR, communications industry experience a plus
  • Experience with InDesign, Google Docs, Adobe Acrobat, CRMs (Boostr preferred), Slack, Microsoft Outlook
  • Although the position is remote, a New York area based candidate with the ability to attend and assist with periodic events, promotions, group projects, etc. is preferred
  • Must be highly motivated and passionate
  • Excellent presentation, time management and organizational skills
  • Superior interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Fluency in the latest technologies (digital, social and mobile)
  • Self-starter able to solve problems, identify issues and develop solutions
  • Strong prospecting, negotiation and closing skills
