Job summary

Roadtex Transportation, now part of Echo Global Logistics, seeks a detail-oriented Freight Operations Associate to support day-to-day brokerage execution for TL and LTL accounts across a nationwide network. You’ll build loads, schedule appointments, collect documents, and maintain clear records to ensure reliable service.

You will work with sales, finance, and carrier ops to resolve issues, provide timely updates, and uphold high customer satisfaction in a fast-paced environment.

About the Job

• Responsible for supporting day-to-day freight execution process for transactional brokerage accounts to deliver reliable follow-through and high customer service.


• Supports sales rep to focus on outbound selling by managing load building, standard quoting, appointment scheduling, and document collection for TL and LTL modes across the sales rep’s book.


• Takes a disciplined approach to work to ensure timelines are met, documentation is accurate, and escalations are timely and clear.

Your Day-to-Day Mission

  • Responsible for execution process on tendered loads from accounts across LTL and TL, including load building, appt scheduling, document collection, and standard LTL quoting across the sales rep’s book.
  
  
  • Monitors load coverage and takes action / escalates to ensure high service levels and predictable outcomes, minimizing loads missed
  
  
  • Develops strong understanding of freight brokerage process for TL loads and is able quote standard TL lanes by the end of the first year.
  
  
  • Maintains accurate load records with complete inputs and clear notes so loads move with minimal rework and strong auditability.
  
  
  • Resolves standard exceptions using SOPs and guidelines, escalating only when severity or guardrails require it.
  
  
  • Maintains operating clarity through robust organization, clean documentation, and reliable handoffs that reduce repeat issues.

  • Receives and proactively sends routine load updates / responses to basic support requests with customers on operational tasks.
  
  
  • Keeps sales reps and senior operators proactively informed with structured updates that clarify impact, next steps, and ownership.
  
  
  • Engages other teams as needed, partnering with Financial Ops, Billing teams, and Carrier Ops teams to drive accounting / carrier partner issues to closure in a timely manner.
  
  
  
  

Your Team Counterparts

• Sales reps / Sales managers: convert priorities into execution and keep them updated on exceptions with clear, decision-oriented updates.


• Centralized Operations Support Teams: monitor for customer-facing exceptions on centralized and automated tasks and resolve / escalate only defined high-severity situations.


• Financial Ops / Billing teams: provide clean documentation and timelines to resolve accounting disputes efficiently.


• Carrier Ops teams: coordinate capacity for built loads, service recovery, and additional customer charges across the sales rep’s book.


• Operations manager: receive coaching and training resources as needed to improve freight execution skills, while monitoring performance against role expectations (including reviews)


• Customers: provide proactive exception communication and drive resolution alignment (e.g., tracking updates, load reschedules, sales rep escalations).
