Clera is seeking an Account Executive in Los Angeles, CA, to own the full sales cycle from prospecting to close. The role offers remote flexibility with travel 1-2 days per week to industry events and client sites.
You'll generate and close new business, manage relationships with fleet operators and public sector buyers, work with the BD team to accelerate deals, and participate in early-stage equity and high-visibility growth opportunities.
We're a Y Combinator-backed, Series A marketplace startup modernizing the way America's most essential industries buy and sell specialized vehicles and equipment — think emergency, public safety, and heavy-duty sectors. Our platform automates the entire transaction lifecycle — payments, freight, paperwork, warranty, and financing — compressing what traditionally took months into minutes.
As an Account Executive, you'll be a key driver of our growth, owning the full sales cycle from prospecting through close. You'll have significant upside for internal mobility as the company scales, and you'll work directly alongside our sales leadership to shape how we go to market.
Generate and close new business, building a pipeline of fleet operators, government entities, fire departments, EMS providers, and other specialized equipment buyers and sellers.
Engage prospects and customers through phone, email, and other outreach channels to understand their challenges and identify the right solutions.
Collaborate closely with the business development team to move pipeline forward and accelerate deal velocity.
Partner with the sales leader to drive operational efficiencies and continuously refine our sales process.
Represent the company at industry trade shows and events, with travel expected 1-2 days per week and occasional weekend availability for shows.
Required:
3-15 years of experience in a fast-paced, quota-carrying closing role.
Demonstrated track record of working quickly and iteratively — you test, learn, and adapt.
Strong customer-facing communication skills across phone, email, and in-person channels.
Ownership mentality: you treat your book of business like it's your own company.
Entrepreneurial mindset — comfortable with ambiguity and energized by building in an early-stage environment.
Nice to Have:
Background in marketplace, fleet, government, automotive, or heavy equipment sales.
Experience in a high-velocity, transactional sales environment.
Familiarity with selling to public sector or B2B buyers.
Note: Visa sponsorship is not available for this role.
Base salary: $100,000 – $150,000 annually, depending on experience
Significant upside through commissions and internal growth opportunities
Early-stage equity participation
