Job summary

One Home Health Agency is seeking an Account Executive to join our growing team in the Chicago area. You will build and maintain relationships with external referral sources, coordinate with intake and clinical teams, and manage referral activity across designated territory.

This role requires healthcare knowledge, strong communication, willingness to travel, and the ability to work evenings or weekends for community events.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, or related field, or equivalent demonstrated experience in sales and marketing within a service industry.
  • 1–3 years of sales/marketing experience, preferably in healthcare and home health or post-acute settings.
  • Knowledge of home health eligibility, including homebound status, skilled need, medical necessity, and related requirements.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for interaction with physicians, facility leadership, clinical staff, and business audiences.
  • Ability to prioritize a workload, manage multiple accounts, and meet deadlines with limited supervision.
  • Proficiency with MS Office and ability to learn and use CRM/EMR systems.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel territory.
  • Availability for occasional evenings and weekends for events and referral needs.
  • Must not be excluded from Medicare/Medicaid or any federal/state healthcare program.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain knowledge of the assigned territory and local healthcare market.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with referral sources; manage accounts.
  • Update sales strategies and report market information to supervisor.
  • Participate in ongoing clinical and sales training; collaborate with peers and department specialists.
  • Comply with hospital-based ACOs, narrow networks, and other healthcare programs.
  • Daily reporting and CRM/GPS tracking during business hours.
  • Develop and execute marketing plans and schedules for the territory.
  • Maintain records of referral source activity in CRM with contacts, calls, outcomes, and next steps.
  • Analyze referral data and adjust marketing efforts based on trends.
  • Report activity, pipeline, and results weekly to the Administrator.
  • Plan community events and publicity campaigns with Administrator approval.

One Home Health is looking for an Account Executive to join our growing team!

Position Summary

Responsible for building, establishing, fostering, and maintaining relationships with external referral sources within designated territory and assigned accounts. This position is also responsible for ongoing daily communication with internal departments such as intake and clinical regarding referral management and demonstrate timely communication to referral sources. When applicable, this role also requires on-site patient liaison services while in acute and/or post-acute settings.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, communications, or a related field, or equivalent demonstrated experience in sales and marketing within a service industry.
  • One to three years of sales and marketing experience, preferably in healthcare and preferably in home health, hospice, or another post acute setting.
  • Working knowledge of home health eligibility, including homebound status, skilled need, medical necessity, and physician certification and face to face encounter requirements. Able to review a referred patient’s full clinical picture, including comorbidities and secondary conditions, and determine whether the patient appears appropriate for home health services.
  • Well developed written and verbal communication skills sufficient to represent the agency to physicians, facility leadership, clinical staff, and business audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize a workload, manage multiple accounts and projects at once, and work within deadlines with limited supervision.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to learn and use agency software, electronic medical record systems, and CRM platforms on computers, tablets, and smartphones.
  • Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, current automobile insurance, and the ability to travel throughout the assigned territory, including long distances.
  • Availability to work occasional evenings and weekends for community events and referral source needs.
  • Must not be excluded from participation in Medicare, Medicaid, or any other federal or state healthcare program.
Preferred qualification
  • Established referral source relationships in the Agency’s target market.
  • Prior experience with CRM Systems or a comparable healthcare CRM.
  • Clinical background, or prior experience as a clinical liaison.
  • Experience running campaigns across multiple platforms, and strong copywriting or content development skills.
Essential Functions/Areas of Accountability
  • Maintains comprehensive knowledge of assigned territory and has a pulse on the local healthcare market.
  • Establishes new relationships with referral sources and maintains established relationships with existing accounts.
  • Routinely updates sales strategies to best fit the needs of our agency and referral sources. Proactively reports pertinent market information to supervisor.
  • Participates in ongoing clinical and sales training. Shows interest and ability working with peers and other department specialists regularly.
  • Complies with rules of participation in hospital-based ACO’s, narrow networks, and various other programs within the healthcare industry.
  • Agreeable to daily reporting and updating in a variety of CRM’s and GPS tracking during business hours.
  • Develop and execute annual, quarterly, monthly, and weekly marketing plans, schedules, and activity calendars.
  • Maintain accurate and timely records of all referral source activity in the CRM System, including contacts, calls, outcomes, and next steps.
  • Analyze referral data, conversion rates, market share, and demographic trends, and adjust marketing effort based on what the data shows.
  • Report activity, pipeline, and results to the company’s Administrator on a weekly cadence, including wins, losses, and barriers to admission.
  • Plan and carry out community events, publicity campaigns, and social media activity in coordination with the company Administrator. All external and printed materials must be approved by the company Administrator before use.
  • Employee consents to the GPS monitoring of Company issued phones and devices for determining or confirming employee’s compliance with the Company Time & Attendance policy. Managers or office-based personnel will regularly monitor the precise geographic locations of the phone via global positioning satellite during standard business hours to verify compliance with the Time & Attendance Policy.
  • Manages communication to referral sources on assigned referrals and works with the intake department in a timely manner.
  • Performs liaison services when requested by supervisor or referral source.
  • Facilitates ongoing business development to meet or exceed company goals and objectives as well as individualized performance goals outlined by your supervisor.
  • Promotes a positive and consistent image and reputation on behalf of One Home Health in the community.
  • Clear understanding that this role requires a heavy presence in the ‘field’. More clearly defined, 80% of time should be spent at clinical sites doing various tasks such as: attending meetings, scheduling meetings, cold calling, patient visits, etc.

Salary range for this role is up to $80,000 plus commission.
