Job description

Day in the life begins with checking inbound e-mail, responding to quote requests, checking salesforce.com to update current opportunity funnel with call logs, updated close dates and probabilities, and next step and follow updates. Field days include calling on current opportunities to move them forward, checking on existing customers to verify consumable workflow components are ordered, and getting referrals and prospecting for new opportunities.

How You’ll Make An Impact:

  • Develop and Execute a Territory Sales Plan.
  • Promote and Sell the Bio-Rad Equipment Portfolio and accompanying consumable workflows to achieve territory sales goals.
  • Build, Manage and grow the sales opportunity funnel via salesforce.com CRM.
  • Identify, Nurture and Grow sales opportunities.
  • Manage and meet customer deadlines.
  • Proactively partner and communicate with regional sales team to ensure achievement of territory sales goals.
  • Proactively update CRM on a daily basis.
  • Proactively communicate with regional manager on activities, market trends, opportunities, and forecast.
  • Demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills within Bio-Rad and externally with customers.
  • Learn technical aspects of product portfolio and learn to demo key products.

What You Bring:

  • Education: BA/BS (required) MS/PhD (preferred).
  • Work Experience: 3-5 years of sales experience with a strong focus on selling both Genomics and/or Proteomics capital equipment & consumables portfolios preferred. Relevant research experience can replace sales experience.
  • Previous experience selling to academic and government customers preferred. Candidate must demonstrate scientific understanding and fluency in the areas we serve with our product portfolio.
  • Excellent communication & presentation skills (Verbal & Written).
  • Highly motivated with a demonstrated record of success.
  • Strong knowledge of the genomics and proteomics research space.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Developed analytical skills.
  • Knowledge of Salesforce.com and Microsoft office.

Compensation: The estimated base salary range for this position is $117,900 to $162,200 at the time of posting. This range is inclusive of all geographic locations. Actual compensation will be provided in writing at the time of offer, if applicable, and is based on several factors we believe fairly and accurately impact compensation, including experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, and other job permitted factors. This position is also eligible for quarterly commission based on assigned sales quotas.
