The Account Director is the primary leader for key government and energy sector customers, responsible for developing and executing account strategies to drive overall account growth and customer satisfaction. This role involves managing key relationships across all customer divisions, markets, and sites, while also identifying and developing new business opportunities within the service provider.

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Strategic Account Leadership Development: Develop detailed account and sales strategies tailored to the government and energy sectors, focusing on business growth and impact.
  • Account Execution: Execute strategic sales and account plans to achieve sales targets and expand the customer base within government agencies and energy companies.
  • Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong, long-lasting customer relationships within government and energy sectors, acting as the main point of contact for clients.
  • Forecasting: Accurately forecast monthly, quarterly, and annual gross profit specifically for government and energy sector accounts.
  • Performance Tracking: Monitor sales performance metrics within government and energy sectors, analyze data, and generate reports to track progress towards goals.
  • Team Management: Lead a team directly or indirectly, depending on specific government and energy sector account assignments.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless delivery of products/services and resolve any customer issues within government and energy sectors.
  • Market Insights: Maintain a thorough understanding of the government and energy sectors, including industry trends, technology, and performance indicators.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field.
  • Effective leadership skills with experience managing a sales team across government and energy sectors.
  • Minimum 7+ years of account management experience, preferably within wireless, broadband, or wireline industries.
  • Strong understanding of networking infrastructure, market trends, and related services within government and energy sectors.
  • Recent responsibility for managing a major account team with a multi-million-dollar quota within government or energy sectors.
  • Proven experience selling to telecom service providers, OEMs, large data centers, and/or Fortune 500 enterprises within government and energy sectors.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and persuasion skills tailored for government and energy sector clients.
  • Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to travel to client meetings and industry events within government and energy sectors.
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt to change and thrive in a dynamic, competitive market environment.
