Job description

Location: Oklahoma City, OK

Pay: Competitive pay based on education and/or experience, plus evening and weekend shift differential, and $500 bonus after 6 months and $1,000 bonus after 1 year!

Days: Monday through Friday; rotating Saturdays

Hours: 6:00 p.m. to 2:30 a.m. (EVENINGS)

Position: Laboratory Sample Inspector

The primary objective of this position is to inspect samples, reagents, and supplies received in the laboratory to ensure they meet established acceptance criteria. Responsibilities include accessioning samples in the SafeTrace Blood Bank Software, centrifuging, de-capping, and sorting samples for infectious disease testing.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; some college experience preferred
  • Experience working in a medical laboratory is preferred

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Follow Standard Operating Procedures
  • Accession all donor, non-donor, and client samples in the SafeTrace system
  • Label samples according to SOP
  • Inspect samples for testing acceptability
  • Sort and route samples appropriately
  • Perform centrifuging, de-capping, and sorting of samples
  • Maintain laboratory equipment
  • Keep work area organized and clean
  • Identify samples requiring further testing
  • Archive samples by scanning into the system
  • Dispose of samples as required
  • Communicate issues to supervisors and team members
  • Assist with investigations and resolving accessioning issues
  • Serve as a client service representative for the testing lab
  • Notify clients of testing issues
  • Respond to Central Monitoring System alarms
  • Prepare and ship supplies and barcodes to clients
  • Answer phone calls
  • Inspect and store reagents and supplies
  • Work hours according to client needs, including rotating weekends and holidays
  • Perform additional duties as needed
