Job summary

Bucks IU is seeking an Accessible Materials Production Specialist to convert curricular content into accessible formats for students with visual impairments or other learning needs. The role works with Teachers of the Visually Impaired to adapt materials and ensure timely distribution.

The ideal candidate will have a High School Diploma, basic computer troubleshooting skills, and the ability to learn braille and use embossing equipment, while maintaining confidentiality and safety standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Participation in ongoing training in Accessible material production.
• Competency with computer troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Regular attendance is required either in-person or approved remote work.
• Work with materials to match learning needs to appropriate modifications.
• Convert and remediate standard textbooks, documents, and digital files into accessible alternative formats.
• Create and apply alternative text (alt text) to images and graphics to ensure accessibility.
• Audit and evaluate digital and print instructional resources for accessibility and compliance.
• Test and verify documents, files, and digital platforms using screen readers and other assistive technologies.
