The University of Mississippi Medical Center is looking for a part-time Access Services Associate to support its library operations. Key duties include providing customer service, assisting with Interlibrary Loan requests, and promoting service excellence. General Summary of Position:
The Part-time Access Services Associate will contribute to the operation of UML University Library and the Access Services department by participating in: Interlibrary Loan, student employee supervision, circulation desk functions, customer service, stacks maintenance, and other projects as assigned. This position will be scheduled for up to 18 hours a week; opening or closing shifts are preferred. Schedule is created each semester (so Summer schedule may be different than Fall semester schedule) and will be discussed in interview. Occasional additional hours, especially during final exams, may be required. In addition, the following federal holidays may be required: Labor Day, Indigenous People's Day, Veteran's Day, President's Day, Patriot's Day.
Reporting to the Access Services Department, the candidate will perform the following job duties:
1. Provide and model customer service at the Library Services Desk. Facilitate the use of library materials by registering and maintaining patron accounts, assisting with Course Reserves, and participating in the training and supervision of student employees.
2. Assist in the processing of Interlibrary Loan requests, retrieve and scan or ship materials as requested through RAPID and ILLiad, and receive and process incoming materials for use. Obtain copyright materials exceeding fair use guidelines using Reprintsdesk software or OCLC’s IFM payment system.
3. Promote the University’s commitment to service excellence by: Building effective partnerships with co-workers throughout the University by freely sharing appropriate information and providing assistance when needed. Communicating with other UML offices such as UCAPS and Campus Security. Ensuring optimal service to all internal and external partners in response to all requests for service and information. Maintaining an environment that is welcoming to persons of all backgrounds, nationalities, and roles.
4. Other duties as assigned by Access Services Coordinator, Access Services Manager/Librarian, or Head of Access Services.

Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED/equivalent
Demonstrated experience with computer software such as Microsoft Office Suite and data management systems
