Summary

Access and Reimbursement Manager (ARM) is a field-based role that proactively provides in-person (or virtual as needed) education to defined accounts within their assigned geographies on a wide range of access and reimbursement topics in support of product strategy.

ARM serves as the key contact for access and reimbursement support, acting as the local market access expert on payer policies, coverage, billing, coding, claims processing, reimbursement, and manufacturer support programs. The role requires problem-solving, analyzing access and reimbursement issues, and communicating healthcare landscape changes effectively.

It involves partnering with NPC field associates, including Customer Engagement and Market Access, and coordinating cross-functionally within NPC, such as Patient Support Center, Marketing, Public Affairs, and third-party affiliates.

This remote & field-based role covers areas including Baltimore, MD, Washington, DC, Annapolis, MD, and Hagerstown, MD. Residency within the territory or within 60 miles of the territory border is required.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Support patient access by providing education on product-specific programs to providers and staff, integrating these into office workflows.
  2. Collaborate with practice staff to support patient access, including billing, coding, and reimbursement issues.
  3. Analyze problems, understand payer policies, and support account reimbursement issues and opportunities.
  4. Support local coverage decisions and communicate policy changes proactively.
  5. Manage NVS-sponsored patient support programs to facilitate therapy adherence.
  6. Maintain expertise in regional access landscape and act as reimbursement expert.
  7. Coordinate with Patient Support Center on patient case management and reimbursement support.
  8. Share insights on customer needs and barriers with cross-functional teams.
  9. Ensure compliance with company policies, privacy laws (HIPAA), and handle adverse events reporting.
Essential Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree required; advanced degree preferred.
  • 3-5 years' experience in reimbursement, managed care, clinical support, or sales within pharma or healthcare.
  • Experience with specialty pharmacy products, coding, billing, and office support programs.
  • Prior account management experience, especially with complex accounts and payer landscapes.
  • Knowledge of CMS policies (Medicare Parts B & D) and managed care sectors is a plus.
  • Ability to travel at least 50%, covering large multistate territories.
Desirable Requirements
  • Managing multiple products, strong presentation skills, medical insurance terminology knowledge.
  • Ability to manage expenses, understanding of patient privacy laws, and strong business acumen.

The salary range at start is estimated between $138,600 and $257,400 annually, with potential additional benefits. Final compensation depends on various factors including location, experience, and skills. The role involves completing initial training and requires a valid driver’s license for travel.
