Access & Reimbursement Manager (ARM) – Midwest - Remote

Summary

Access and Reimbursement Manager (ARM) is a field-based role that proactively provides in-person (or virtual as needed) education to defined accounts within their assigned geographies on access and reimbursement topics, supporting aligned product strategies.

ARM serves as the key contact for access and reimbursement support, specializing in payer policy coverage, multi-channel pathways, billing, coding, claims processing, reimbursement, and integrating manufacturer support programs into account workflows. The role requires problem-solving, analysis of access issues, and proactive communication about healthcare landscape changes.

ARM collaborates closely with other Novartis field teams, including Customer Engagement and Market Access, and coordinates cross-functionally within NPC (e.g., Patient Support Center, Marketing, Public Affairs, etc.).

This remote & field-based role covers territories including Green Bay, WI; Milwaukee, WI; Rockford, IL; Minneapolis, MN; and Bismarck, ND. Candidates must reside within or within 60 miles of the territory border.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support patient access by educating providers and staff on product-specific programs and integrating these into office workflows.
  • Work with office staff to support patient access, reimbursement, and billing issues.
  • Analyze access and reimbursement problems, identify trends, and support local coverage decisions to enhance patient access.
  • Manage and support patient support programs such as Co-pay assistance.
  • Maintain expertise in regional access landscapes and act as a reimbursement expert for therapeutic area products.
  • Coordinate with the Patient Support Center on case management and reimbursement issues.
  • Share insights with cross-functional teams to address access and reimbursement barriers.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA and privacy laws when handling patient information.
  • Report adverse events as per company processes.
Essential Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree required; advanced degree preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience in reimbursement, managed care, clinical support, or pharmaceutical sales.
  • Experience with specialty pharmacy products, coding, billing, and complex account management.
  • Knowledge of CMS policies, Medicare Parts B & D, Managed Care, and Federal payer sectors is a plus.
  • Ability to travel at least 50%, covering large multistate territories.
Desirable Requirements
  • Ability to manage multiple products, excellent presentation skills, and strong business acumen.
  • Understanding of patient privacy laws, including HIPAA.

The salary range is $138,600 to $257,400 annually, with potential additional benefits. Candidates must have a valid driver’s license, and the role involves travel and initial training. Novartis is an equal opportunity employer committed to diversity and inclusion.
