Job Description Summary

Location: Remote - Detroit, MI

Access and Reimbursement Manager (ARM) is a field-based role that proactively provides in-person (or virtual as needed) education to defined accounts within their assigned geographies on a wide range of access and reimbursement topics and needs, supporting aligned product strategies.

ARM serves as the key contact and lead for access and reimbursement support-related matters, acting as the local market access expert on payer policy coverage, multi-channel acquisition pathways, billing and coding, claims processing, reimbursement, and integration of manufacturer support programs into account workflows. The role requires strong problem-solving, analytical skills, and proactive communication about changes in the healthcare landscape.

ARM will collaborate closely with other NPC field associates, including Customer Engagement (Sales) and Market Access, representing NPC with integrity and aligning with NPC Values and Behaviors. The role also involves cross-functional coordination within NPC, including Patient Support Center, Marketing, Public Affairs, and third-party affiliates.

About the Role:

This position covers the Detroit, MI, and surrounding areas, including Lima, OH, Sidney, OH, Toledo, OH, Rochester, MI, and Perrysburg, OH. The associate must reside within the territory or within a reasonable commuting distance (up to 60 miles).

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Support patient access by providing face-to-face or virtual education to providers and staff, integrating programs into office workflows.
  2. Address customer questions related to NPC policies on product ordering, payment, inventory, and returns.
  3. Collaborate with office staff, providers, billing, and claims departments to support patient access.
  4. Analyze problems and offer solutions related to payer policies, drug acquisition, reimbursement, and account trends.
  5. Support local coverage decisions and communicate policy changes proactively.
  6. Implement and support patient support programs, such as Co-pay assistance.
  7. Maintain expertise in regional access landscape and act as a reimbursement expert.
  8. Coordinate with the Patient Support Center on case management and issue resolution.
  9. Share insights with cross-functional teams regarding access and reimbursement barriers.
  10. Ensure compliance with privacy laws (HIPAA) and report adverse events appropriately.
  11. Develop and communicate plans of action for buy-and-bill processes, educate stakeholders, and analyze reimbursement opportunities.
  12. Engage with non-prescribers, including pharmacy and office administrators.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree required; advanced degree preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience in reimbursement, managed care, clinical support, or sales within the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Experience with specialty pharmacy products, coding, billing, and complex accounts.
  • Knowledge of CMS policies, Medicare Parts B and D, managed care, and federal payer sectors is a plus.
  • Ability to travel up to 50%, reside within the territory, and hold a valid driver's license.
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and computer skills (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, CRM).

Compensation and Benefits:

The salary range is $138,600 - $257,400 annually, with potential bonuses and benefits. Final compensation depends on experience, location, and other factors. The role requires successful completion of initial training, including home study.
