Job summary

Wachter, Inc. is seeking an Access Control Service Technician to service and install systems at retail locations nationwide. This full-time position requires self-motivation, reliability, and the ability to work independently while meeting customer expectations and project timelines.

Candidates should have experience with access control, CCTV, intrusion systems, and low-voltage wiring. Wachter offers competitive pay, comprehensive benefits, travel opportunities, and room for advancement.

Qualifications

  • Experience installing and servicing Access Control, CCTV, and Intrusion Alarm Systems in commercial environments.
  • Experience with Fire Alarm Systems is a plus.
  • Ability to read blueprints and site maps.
  • Experience with voice and data cabling is a plus.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Proficiency with smartphones, computers, email, spreadsheets, and internal systems.
  • Possession of basic low-voltage/telecom tools, PPE, and reliable transportation during training.

Responsibilities

  • Installing, troubleshooting, and repairing Access Control, CCTV, and Intrusion Alarm Systems.
  • Running low voltage cables and conduit work, including drilling and conduit runs.
  • Cutting in door strikes and maglocks as needed.
  • Completing all wiring, connections, and equipment installations.
  • Collaborating with Installation Team Leads or Project Managers on schedules and delivery.
  • Conducting system tests and troubleshooting to ensure full functionality and compliance.
  • Providing technical escalation support on-site and remotely.

Key Responsibilities May Include:
  • Installing, troubleshooting, and repairing Access Control, CCTV, and Intrusion Alarm Systems
  • Running low voltage and composite cables in commercial buildings, including conduit work and concrete drilling
  • Cutting in door strikes and maglocks as needed
  • Completing all wiring, connections, and equipment installations to meet customer satisfaction and contractual requirements
  • Collaborating with Installation Team Leads or Project Managers to manage schedules and equipment delivery
  • Conducting system tests and troubleshooting to ensure full functionality and compliance with local, state, and federal codes
  • Providing technical escalation support both on-site and remotely
Travel and Training
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (no DUI/DWI in the last 3 years)
  • Willingness to travel extensively (up to 75–100%) and work flexible shifts, including overnight travel
  • Must have reliable personal transportation for use during the initial training period; must be willing to attend a mandatory one-week, in-person technician orientation in Lowell, Arkansas upon hire; orientation is scheduled shortly after hire based on the next available session, and a company vehicle will be provided upon completion of orientation

$30 - $50 an hour
