Job summary

Wachter is seeking an Access Control Service Technician to install, service, and troubleshoot Access Control, CCTV, and Intrusion Alarm systems at retail locations nationwide. Travel-intensive role requires self-motivation, reliability, and the ability to work independently.

Qualifications

• Experience installing and servicing Access Control, CCTV, and Intrusion Alarm Systems in commercial environments.
• Experience with Fire Alarm Systems is a plus.
• Ability to read blueprints and site maps.
• Experience with voice and data cabling is a plus.
• Strong customer service and communication skills (verbal and written).
• Proficiency with smartphones, computers, email, spreadsheets, and internal systems.
• Possession of basic low-voltage/telecom tools, PPE, and reliable transportation during training.

Responsibilities

• Install, troubleshoot, and repair Access Control, CCTV, and Intrusion Alarm Systems.
• Run low voltage and composite cables in commercial buildings, including conduit work.
• Cut in door strikes and maglocks as needed.
• Complete wiring and installations to meet requirements.
• Collaborate with team leads to manage schedules and equipment delivery.
• Test systems and troubleshoot to ensure compliance and functionality.
• Provide technical escalation support on-site and remotely.

Key Responsibilities May Include:

• Installing, troubleshooting, and repairing Access Control, CCTV, and Intrusion Alarm Systems
• Running low voltage and composite cables in commercial buildings, including conduit work and concrete drilling
• Cutting in door strikes and maglocks as needed
• Completing all wiring, connections, and equipment installations to meet customer satisfaction and contractual requirements
• Collaborating with Installation Team Leads or Project Managers to manage schedules and equipment delivery
• Conducting system tests and troubleshooting to ensure full functionality and compliance with local, state, and federal codes
• Providing technical escalation support both on-site and remotely

Travel and Training

• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (no DUI/DWI in the last 3 years)
• Willingness to travel extensively (up to 75–100%) and work flexible shifts, including overnight travel
• Must have reliable personal transportation for use during the initial training period; must be willing to attend a mandatory one-week, in-person technician orientation in Lowell, Arkansas upon hire; orientation is scheduled shortly after hire based on the next available session, and a company vehicle will be provided upon completion of orientation
