Job summary

• Strong foundation in Cybersecurity and Information Security to protect systems and data integrity.
• Experience with Physical Security and Network Security in environments using access control, CCTV, and related infrastructure.
• Effective Communication skills for collaborating with internal teams, clients, and vendors, and for documenting system configurations and procedures.
• Hands-on experience installing and maintaining access control systems (hardware and software), including card access, keypads, and security panels.
• Familiarity with security standards, best practices, and compliance requirements relevant to industrial, energy, and healthcare environments.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and construction plans; basic low-voltage or IT networking knowledge is beneficial.
• Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and capability to work safely in active construction and facility settings.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certifications in security systems, networking, or related fields are a plus.

Responsibilities

Role Description

The Access Control Specialist is a full-time, on-site role based in Central Texas. This role is responsible for installing, configuring, and maintaining access control systems, including badges, readers, controllers, and related security hardware and software. Day-to-day tasks include performing site assessments, troubleshooting system issues, monitoring and responding to access-related incidents, and ensuring systems align with security policies and regulatory requirements. The specialist will collaborate with project managers, technicians, and client representatives to design and implement secure access solutions for construction projects and existing facilities. Additional responsibilities include maintaining detailed documentation, providing user training, and supporting integration with CCTV, network, and other security systems.
