Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• A background check/drug screen may be required by law or contract.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to port facility visitors, employees, contractors, and drivers while carrying out access‑control procedures and site policies.
• Monitor access points, verify credentials and authorization, maintain visitor and vehicle entry records, and control access to restricted areas according to procedures.
• Respond to access‑control concerns, incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner; notify appropriate personnel and document activities.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned port areas, entry gates, facilities, and perimeter locations to identify unauthorized access and policy violations.
• Direct visitors, contractors, and commercial traffic to appropriate locations while maintaining professional communication and orderly site operations.
