This Access Clinician position provides clinical and diagnostic assessments, conducts psychotherapy, makes determinations of risk status or need for hospitalization, and completes other clinical activities as needed with individuals experiencing homelessness or housing insecurity. Referral sources primarily include individuals identified by the Advantage Homeless Day Service Center, Advantage supportive housing programs, and external low-income housing providers (such as Athens Housing Authority). Clinical services are provided at the Advantage Homeless Day Service Center and in a community-based office space provided by Athens Housing Authority.
The Clinician will serve as the primary point of contact for the entry of new clients into Advantage outpatient services with an emphasis of Residential and Homeless Support Services programs and Athens Housing Authority tenants. The Clinician will provide outpatient services including intake interviews, diagnostic verification, psychosocial assessments, crisis assessments, safety planning, treatment plans, and referrals for ongoing services. On an as needed basis, they will provide counseling/psychotherapy to clients with barriers accessing a traditional clinic environment. The Clinician will also be responsible for updating psychosocial assessments and treatment plans for existing clients with a minimal frequency of at least once per year. Other pertinent daily or weekly duties may include:
Candidate must have at least a Master’s degree from an accredited educational institution in Psychology, Social Work, or Community Counseling AND an active LPC, LCSW, or PsyD status in the state of Georgia.
Valid driver’s license required, active LPC, LCSW, or PsyD status in the state of Georgia.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear; and taste or smell.
