Job summary

People Incorporated Mental Health Services is seeking a behaviorial health student to join our Access and Recovery Center team for a paid mental health internship.

The internship offers 20 hours per week, Monday–Friday, 8:00am–12:00pm, at 317 York Ave, St. Paul, MN 55130. Salary is $20.00 per hour and the Access and Recovery Center provides wraparound services with ARMHS, outreach, and care coordination.

• Currently enrolled or recent graduate from a bachelor’s program in social services or related field.

Responsibilities

• Assist in completing client intake documentation and progress notes.
• Perform program maintenance tasks including donation management and resource organization.

Learning Objectives

Main Job Duties

• Assist in completing client intake documentation and progress note documentatiion following client interactions and activities


• Complete program maintenance tasks such as donation management, resource organization, and activity material preparation


• Conduct client engagement activities, connect individuals to community resources, and assist clients with benefits-related needs and paperwork

QualificationsRequired Qualifications

• Currently enrolled or recently graduated from a bachelor’s program in Social Work, Human Services, Psychology, Sociology, Counseling, Public Health, or related program.


• Interest in community-based mental health services, recovery-oriented care, and serving diverse populations.


• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.


• Ability to establish rapport with individuals from a variety of backgrounds and experiences.


• Demonstrates empathy, professionalism, and willingness to learn. Ability to receive feedback, utilize supervision, and work collaboratively within a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous volunteer work or practicum experience in human services or behavioral health is helpful but not required.
