Job summary

Q-Lab Corporation in Westlake, Ohio is seeking an Acceptance Testing Technician to perform the Acceptance Testing process as approved by the Product Engineer, using test procedures, specifications, and diagrams.

You will prepare testers for startup, calibrate them to standards, document issues, and support continuous improvement while maintaining safe, clean work areas.

Required qualifications include a high school diploma and at least two years of mechanical or electrical assembly experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years assembly background experience in mechanical and/or electrical assemblies and controls.
• Advanced mechanical and electrical skills.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering documents.
• Basic math skills; basic statistical skills (e.g. – averages, min value, max value, etc.).
• Capability to perform mechanical and electrical assemblies.

Responsibilities

• Perform Acceptance Testing process approved by Product Engineer.
• Work from test procedures, specifications, mechanical and electrical diagrams and schematics.
• Prepare testers for startup and test.
• Finish any wiring or assembly operations before connecting power and water lines.
• Check manual operations and safety devices.
• Check for leaks and make necessary repairs.
• Check for wiring errors and make necessary repairs.
• Check for proper components, tags, and programming of Tester.
• Calibrate testers to standards and verify capability of performing cycles.
• Purge tester of accumulated water and remove materials used during testing.
• Assign tester serial numbers and verify orders.
• Document unusual conditions and non-conformances.
• Summarize and report issues to Assembly, Quality, & R&D personnel.
• Ensure testing is completed to meet ship dates.
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement to improve quality & reliability.
• Participate on continuous improvement teams.
• Maintain equipment and clean work area.
• Follow safety rules and regulations.

Q-Lab Corporation is currently seeking an Acceptance Testing Technician. This position will be responsible for performing the Acceptance Testing process as approved by the Product Engineer, working from test procedures, specifications, mechanical/electrical diagrams, and schematics. This role is responsible for performing quality checks of final assembly testers.

Responsibilities

• Perform Acceptance Testing process approved by Product Engineer
• Working from test procedures, specifications, mechanical and electrical diagrams and schematics
• Prepare testers for startup and test
• Finish any wiring or assembly operations necessary before connecting power and water lines
• Check manual operations and safety devices
• Check for leaks and make necessary repairs
• Check for wiring errors and make necessary repairs
• Check for proper components, tags, and programming of Tester
• Calibrate testers to Q-Lab’s standards and preprogram customer’s cycles. Verify testers are capable of performing cycles
• Purge tester of any accumulated water, bleed air/water lines, and remove any materials used during the testing process
• Assign tester serial numbers, review order documents, verify all line items on the sales order are complete
• Document any unusual conditions and non-conformances encountered
• Summarize and report issues encountered to Assembly, Quality, & R&D personnel
• Ensure Acceptance Testing process is completed in a timely manner in order to maintain workflow and meet required ship dates
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement to improve quality & reliability.
• Participate on continuous improvement teams
• Maintain equipment used and work area in a clean and orderly condition
• Follow prescribed safety rules and regulations

Required Skills/Experience

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Minimum 2 years assembly background experience in mechanical and/or electrical assemblies and controls or equivalent
• Advanced mechanical and electrical skills
• Ability to read and interpret engineering documents
• Basic math skills; basic statistical skills (e.g. – averages, min value, max value, etc.)
• Capability to perform mechanical and electrical assemblies

Desired Skills/Experience

• Functional understanding of the testers and how the various subsystems relate
• Use a variety of measuring instruments and gauges such as dial indicators, feeler gauges, pressure gauges, level, tape measure and volt meter, miscellaneous hand tools
• Successfully meet all training requirements (e.g. – IPC/WHMA standards)
• Working knowledge of basic computer functions and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word)
