Job description

You've Never Been Satisfied with \"Good Enough.\" You didn't get into this to manage one piece of a project. You got into it to change how the world gets built. At Accenture Construct, that's the job. You'll help deliver the data centers, power grids, rail networks, factories and public infrastructure that keep communities moving — smarter, safer and more sustainably. You'll work alongside people who think big and act bold: project managers, engineers, technologists and strategists who pair real-world delivery with AI. And you won't be handed a slice of it. We take on whole programs, from early strategy through construction and handover, and we stand behind how they land. Because “good enough” builds the past. You're here to build what's next.

As Accenture continues to grow, you may see a variety of new career opportunities, and depending on the role and location you may be directed to apply through Accenture LLP or one of our other legal entities - Accenture Construct LLC or Accenture Construct Inc., with benefits varying by country and role, so please check with your recruiter for details.

THE WORK:
  • You’ll provide executive leadership and overall management of all project phases including pre construction, procurement support, construction, testing, and commissioning.
  • You’ll oversee multiple design build and/or alternative delivery contracts, ensuring alignment with project scope, schedule, and budget objectives.
  • You’ll serve as the primary liaison with client executive leadership, project controls, legal, and third-party stakeholders, including local jurisdictions and regulatory agencies.
  • You’ll lead contract administration activities including change management, claims avoidance and resolution, risk management, and compliance with contract requirements.
  • You’ll establish and enforce project governance, reporting structures, and performance metrics consistent with rail standards and FTA / FRA requirements.
  • You’ll direct multidisciplinary teams including construction management, design support, quality assurance, safety, environmental compliance, and stakeholder coordination.
  • You’ll coordinate closely with stakeholders to manage permitting, utility relocations, traffic control, and community impacts.
  • You’ll oversee implementation of project controls systems including cost management, scheduling, and risk tracking, ensuring proactive identification and mitigation of issues.
  • You’ll lead executive level reporting, including preparation of briefings, Board reports, and stakeholder presentations.
  • You’ll foster a collaborative, solutions-oriented environment to resolve issues at the lowest level and maintain project momentum.
  • Flexible: The work location for this role will include a mix of working remotely, onsite at a client or in an Accenture office or center.
  • With all our roles, there is some in-person time for collaboration, learning and building relationships with clients, peers, leaders and communities. As an employer, we will be as flexible as possible to support your specific work/life needs.
HERE'S WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field
  • Minimum 15 years of progressively responsible experience in the management and delivery of major rail and transit infrastructure projects of comparable size and complexity, preferably within the NYC metro area
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required – New York strongly preferred
BONUS POINTS IF YOU HAVE:
  • Certified Construction Manager (CCM) certification
  • Prior experience on large scale transit projects, MTA, NJT, Amtrak, or similar large urban / rail transit systems.
  • Familiarity with MTA policies, procedures, and project delivery frameworks
  • Strong local knowledge of NY / NJ communities and stakeholder landscape
  • Proven track record of delivering projects on schedule and within budget while maintaining safety and quality excellence
  • Demonstrated experience delivering projects using alternate delivery methods (e.g., Design-Build, CM/GC, P3), with strong understanding of associated risk allocation and contract structures.
  • Extensive knowledge of construction contracts, means and methods, engineering coordination, and claims management, including dispute resolution strategies.
  • Proven expertise in managing multiple concurrent construction contracts on large-scale transit programs.
  • Strong understanding of owner versus contractor risks and responsibilities, particularly within alternative delivery environments.
  • Direct experience working with local agencies and municipalities in the Greater NYC metro area, including coordination with public works, utilities, and permitting authorities.
  • Experience with federal funding programs, including compliance, reporting, and funding requirements.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to manage large, multidisciplinary teams and complex stakeholder environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to prepare and deliver high-quality executive presentations, technical reports, and formal correspondence.
  • Strong organizational and decision-making skills with the ability to manage competing priorities in a high-profile program environment.
WHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU

The biggest builds going. Hyperscale data centers, grid and generation, transit and rail, chip fabs, mines, water. If it's complex and it matters, it's on our list.
You own the outcome. Not a workstream. Not a deliverable. Whether the program lands.
AI that shows up on site. Program control that predicts instead of records. You'll use it, and you'll help shape it.
Scale without the distance. More than 5,000 practitioners across the Americas, EMEA and APAC, on a team small enough that people know your name.
Serious investment in you. Leadership development, technical upskilling and certification support.
Work that outlasts you. People will use what you build for forty years without knowing your name. That's the point.
Recognition that means something in this industry. Accenture Construct is ranked #6 globally in ENR's 2026 Top 50 Program Management Firms and #4 in Building Design + Construction's Top 80 Construction Management Firms for 2026.
