Job summary

D.C. United is seeking an Academy Head of Performance to develop strength and conditioning programming for its academy teams, aligning with LTAD and the club's curriculum and values.

The role requires collaboration with the MDT, technical staff, and coaching staff to maximize player development and session efficiency. The successful candidate will test and monitor physical profiles, provide precise feedback, and drive data-informed decisions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science, Sport Science, Kinesiology, Strength & Conditioning, or a related field.
• NSCA CSCS certification.
• Competency in data science, including use of Microsoft Excel, GPS systems, Monitoring software, etc.
• Ability to contribute to a High-Performance environment and collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team.
• Clear understanding of and proven ability to implement Long-Term Athletic Development (LTAD).

Responsibilities

• Direct and/or assist in the delivery of field, prehabilitation, strength, rehabilitation sessions and match day warm-ups.
• Manage GPS distribution, collection, download, and analysis; monitor wellness and collect RPE.
• Develop LTAD programming and data reporting to enhance performance.
• Provide recovery strategies post-training and post-match.
• Plan and implement off-season training programs.
• Travel to away matches and tournaments.
• Attend staff/league meetings and communicate with academy coaches and families.
