Job summary

The University of Tampa invites applications for a full-time, continuing position as Assistant Teaching Professor of English and Writing, to begin in August 2027. The role is on-campus with an emphasis on teaching academic writing to a diverse student body in the Academic Writing Program.

The ideal candidate will hold a terminal degree in English or a related field, with university-level teaching experience and demonstrated scholarly activity.

Qualifications

• Terminal degree in English or related field.
• College- or university-level experience teaching academic writing.
• Demonstrated scholarly/professional activity.

Responsibilities

• Teach seven four-hour courses in academic writing per year.
• Contribute to curricular initiatives in the Academic Writing Program.
• Participate in committee work within the program.
• Opportunity to teach humanities courses in the general education curriculum.
• Possibility to serve as Assistant Director of the Academic Writing Program.
