Job summary

The University of Wisconsin–Madison School of Pharmacy seeks an experienced cybersecurity professional to serve as the primary contact for cybersecurity, compliance, and risk management for SoP faculty and staff. You will evaluate information risks, support security control recommendations, and audit solutions to reduce operational and compliance exposures.

Ranked among top pharmacy schools, SoP offers collaboration across teaching, research, and service domains.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated ability to identify risks associated with business processes, operations, information technology, and projects; implement best practices.
  • Working knowledge of cybersecurity industry standards (HIPAA, NIST, ISO, CIS, etc.).
  • Experience using security tools to conduct assessments and monitor IT environments.
  • Strong collaboration, communication skills, and outstanding customer service.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Experience working in an academic setting.
  • Growth mindset with willingness to innovate across multiple applications and areas.

Responsibilities

  • Provides secondary support for web application development and testing.
  • Provides secondary support for endpoint management.
  • Implements security changes to reduce risk and improve security posture.
  • Assists with investigations of major/high-risk security incidents.
  • Offers consultation on cyberdefense services and tools implementations.
  • Researches ways to reduce risk for emerging technologies and services.
  • Conducts security risk assessments, reports, and remediation recommendations.
