Job summary

Huntington Learning Center in West Des Moines is seeking a part-time tutor to teach Reading, Writing, English, Literature, and SAT/ACT prep to students in grades 4–12. After paid training, you’ll teach one-on-one or in small groups, following Huntington’s proven curriculum and personalized student programs to help learners succeed.

The role offers flexible hours (Mon–Thu 2:00–8:00 p.m. and Sat 8:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m.), no homework grading, and ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university is required.
• Strong knowledge of Reading, Writing, English, and/or Literature.
• Teaching/tutoring experience, including SAT/ACT prep, is preferred but not required.
• A genuine desire to help students learn and succeed.

Do you love teaching but wish you could spend more time with students and less time lesson planning and grading?

At Huntington Learning Center, we provide the curriculum, materials, and individualized student programs, so you can focus on what you do best: teaching and helping students succeed.

After paid training in our proven instructional methods, you'll work one-on-one or with small groups of up to four students. You'll help students strengthen academic skills, build confidence, and reach their goals.

Teaching Hours

• Part-time hours can be scheduled around your availability.
