UC Blue Ash College invites applications for an Academic Tutor position for the William R. Deane Tutoring Lab of the Mathematics, Physics and Computer Science Department.
The University of Cincinnati Blue Ash College is one of the largest regional colleges in Ohio. The college is in Blue Ash, Ohio fifteen miles north of the uptown campus, on 135 acres in a park-like setting. We offer primarily associate degrees in career and transition programs, as well as general education courses and technical baccalaureate degrees to approximately 5,100 students. The Academic Tutor assists students in mathematics, physics, and statistics coursework ranging from developmental level to college sophomore level courses. The primary role of the tutor is to provide individualized one-on-one tutoring or offer small group tutoring sessions. This position requires commitment to excellence in undergraduate learning and teaching in an open-access college setting.
This is a Benefits Eligible position with a full-time equivalency (FTE) of 80%. This tutor will work all their hours during Fall and Spring semesters, which is approximately 40 hours a week throughout those 32 weeks. Summer semester may require approximately 20 hours/week. The candidate will work out their final schedule with the lab director, but in general, working hours may include mornings after 8:00am, afternoons, and early evening (on two or three days a week). All hours will be worked in-person in the William R. Deane Tutoring Lab at the Blue Ash Campus. This position is not eligible for Visa sponsorship.
Bachelor's degree in Math, Physics, or Statistics, or a closely related field.
One (1) year of teaching or tutoring related to the specified fields of Math, Physics, or Statistics.
Master's degree in Mathematics, Physics, Statistics, or a related field.
