Job summary

The Woodstock Academy is seeking dedicated Tutors and Boarding Student Tutors to support our students in achieving academic success. Tutors may work with students one-on-one during the day, after school, or in the evenings, either in-person or virtual.

The positions are available on an as-needed basis. Pay is $30.00 per hour, or $40.00 per hour with a CT teaching certificate, and no benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• Experience working with students in an educational setting.
• Experience working with English Language Learners preferred.
• Comfort with using computers and internet for educational support.

Responsibilities

• Meet with students 2 hours per week or more
• Assist student with organization skills
• Assist student with learning self-advocacy skills
• Support student in learning new concepts and completing assignments
• Monitor student progress and performance
• Communicate with residential life staff, faculty, and all necessary parties

Skills

Experience working with students

Knowledge of computers and internet

Education

Bachelor’s degree preferred
