East Carolina University invites applications for a Trauma/Acute Care Surgeon within ECU Health Physicians and the Department of Surgery, Division of Trauma and Acute Care Surgery in Greenville, NC. The position offers academic appointment at the ranks of Clinical Assistant Professor through Professor and a tenure-track path for qualified candidates.

The successful candidate will join a division of eleven academic acute care surgeons to staff the Trauma Service and Surgical/Trauma ICU at ECU

Qualifications

• MD or DO from an accredited institution by time of hire.
• Board certification in general surgery; completed surgical critical care/acute care surgery fellowship; board certified or eligible in surgical critical care.
• Evidence of teaching and research interests desirable.

Responsibilities

• Staff the Trauma Service, Surgical and Trauma ICU, and Emergency General Surgery within ECU Health Medical Center.
• Engage in teaching and research activities within the Department of Surgery and Brody School of Medicine.

Education

MD or DO degree

Board-certified in General Surgery

Fellowship in Surgical Critical Care or Acute Care Surgery

Eligible for Surgical Critical Care board
