Job summary

Monarch Healthcare is seeking an Academic Teacher, Crisis Services in North Carolina to provide targeted education while supporting students’ emotional and therapeutic needs. The role focuses on instruction aligned with state standards and individual IEPs/504 plans, plus careful documentation and collaboration with care teams.

The incumbent will deliver lessons, manage behavior, and develop IEPs as needed, maintaining records and supporting reintegration into home schools.

Qualifications

• Valid North Carolina teaching license in Special Education: EC General Curriculum (K–12) or Cross-Categorical (K–12)
• 1 year of experience working with children/adolescents with a mental health diagnosis and/or substance use disorder
• Knowledge of IEP development and special education compliance, behavioral strategies and trauma-informed education
• Experience delivering instruction aligned with state standards and IEPs/504 plans

Responsibilities

• Deliver academic instruction aligned with state standards and students' IEPs/504 plans
• Support social-emotional and behavioral needs of students served
• Complete documentation timely and accurately
• Develop and implement IEP plans using testing and data
• Maintain student records per regulatory procedures
• Assist with reintegration into home schools
• Maintain required trainings and fulfill supervisor requests
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor
