The successful candidate will join HMS faculty with an appointment commensurate with experience and may provide clinical coverage in subspecialty surgical pathology as interests allow.

Qualifications

• MD or DO board-certified in Pathology (AP or AP/CP) and Massachusetts medical license (or ability to obtain).
• Experience leading an immunohistochemistry laboratory.
• Ability to lead complex, multi-stakeholder laboratory management processes.
• Outstanding communication, organizational, and team-building skills; ability to collaborate across service lines and communicate with families.
• Experience in quality improvement, informatics, regulatory compliance, or operational leadership preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical, scientific, and operational leadership for a high-volume academic IHC service.
• Oversee assay development, validation, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance with emphasis on novel oncology biomarkers.
• Partner with pathology leadership, molecular pathology, clinical laboratories, and oncology research teams to grow a state-of-the-art IHC program.
• Provide clinical coverage in surgical pathology subspecialties based on interest and qualifications.
