UC San Diego Health's Department of Orthopaedic Surgery seeks a highly skilled Spine Surgeon to join our faculty in San Diego. The posted salary range is $300,000 to $500,000, with annual negotiations and potential Health Sciences Compensation Plan participation.

Qualifications

• MD or equivalent (MD/DO/MD-PhD) in health-related fields.
• California medical license or eligible as determined by the Medical Board.
• Board-certified or board-eligible in Orthopaedic Surgery.
• California Fluoroscopy License eligible/required.
• Fellowship in Spine Surgery completed by start.
• Two+ years' experience in complex spine reconstruction preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform degenerative to complex spine surgeries including reconstructions and MIS.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of specialists to provide comprehensive spine care.
• Develop evidence-based care pathways and clinical guidelines for spine surgery patients.
• Participate in the American Spine Registry and related quality-improvement activities.
• Collect and analyze outcomes data such as infection rates and patient-reported outcomes.
• Engage in teaching and research with residents and fellows; contribute to spine surgery publications.
• Participate in clinical trials and basic science research to advance the field.

Education

MD or equivalent (MD/DO/MD-PhD)

California medical license or eligible

Board-certified or board-eligible in Orthopaedic Surgery

California Fluoroscopy License

Spine Surgery fellowship completed

Two+ years experience in complex spine reconstruction
