Areas include EHR-linked biobanks, genetics/genomics, GWAS/PheWAS, pharmacogenomics, AI/ML methods for genomic and clinical data.

Qualifications

• PhD, MD, or MD/PhD in biomedical informatics, genetics/genomics, biostatistics, or related field.
• Expertise in GWAS, PheWAS, sequencing studies, and pharmacogenomics.
• Experience with EHR-linked biobanks and real-world clinical data.
• Experience applying AI/ML methods to genomic and clinical data.
• Evidence of research productivity and potential for independent funding.
• Commitment to teaching, mentoring, and collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain an independent, funded research program in translational bioinformatics and genomics.
• Conduct research using EHR-linked biobanks and large-scale genomic data to study disease and outcomes.
• Develop statistical, computational, and AI/ML methods for genomic and clinical data.
• Lead studies involving GWAS, PheWAS, fine-mapping, polygenic risk modeling, pharmacogenomics.
• Collaborate with MUSC investigators across clinical and data science to advance initiatives.
• Contribute to precision medicine, biobank science, genomics, and AI-driven healthcare innovation.
• Teach and mentor students and trainees in biomedical informatics and related programs.
• Participate in training and mentoring of researchers through interdisciplinary initiatives.
• Contribute to service activities within Division, Department, College, University.
