Job summary

Fayetteville State University Chesnutt Library is seeking a Librarian - Reference to perform general and in-depth reference and research consultations for the university community and external patrons. You will provide engaging service at the public services desk, with outreach efforts and instruction integrated into programs.

The role involves planning holistic learning experiences, supporting inclusive collections, and participating in library and university committees.

Qualifications

• Reference experience in an academic library.
• Knowledge of emerging trends in academic libraries.
• Familiarity with academic research resources and tools.
• Experience with outreach and programming.

Responsibilities

• Perform general and in-depth reference and research consultations with the University community and departments, including in person, phone, and email.
• Provide an engaging, service-oriented experience at the public services desk.
• Plan and develop outreach programs and information literacy instruction.
• Contribute to collection development and library displays in coordination with outreach and events.
• Take part in university committees and professional development; may include evenings/weekends.
