Job summary

The University of Chicago Comer Children's Hospital in Hyde Park seeks full-time Pediatric Emergency Medicine physicians to join our Level I trauma-equipped ED. Appointees will contribute to medical education, simulation, quality improvement, health equity and bioethics research.

Candidates must have a medical doctorate, licensure in Illinois, and be Board certified or Board eligible in PEM; duties include teaching and supervision of trainees, scholarly activity, and developing an academic niche

Job description

The University of Chicago's Department of Pediatrics, Section of Emergency Medicine, in the Biological Sciences Division is searching for full-time faculty members at any rank. Appointees will serve as Pediatric Emergency Medicine Physicians in our Pediatric Level I Trauma-accredited emergency room at The University of Chicago Comer Children's Hospital. In addition, they will develop an academic niche that builds on our faculty expertise in medical education, simulation, quality improvement, health equity and bioethics research, health outcomes, disaster preparedness, child abuse, trauma, or other areas that relate to the mission of the Department of Pediatrics and Comer Children's Hospital. Other duties will include teaching and supervision of trainees and students, and scholarly activity. Academic rank and compensation (including a generous package of fringe benefits) are dependent upon qualifications.

Care is provided at Comer Children's Hospital, our outpatient clinic in Hyde Park, and at CCHA satellite clinics across the Chicagoland region. Located in historic Hyde Park, the primary medical campus includes the Center for Care and Discovery, Comer Children's Hospital, Bernard A. New ambulatory facilities are located in Orland Park and the South Loop, and the Ingalls Health System has recently integrated into the network.
