Job summary

Albany Med Health System is seeking a board-certified or board-eligible Pediatric Infectious Disease physician to join The Bernard & Millie Duker Children’s Hospital as a full-time faculty member in Albany Medical Center. The role offers appointment at Assistant Professor or Associate Professor level, aligned with experience, within an established division.

The position includes inpatient ID consultations, outpatient ID and HIV/PrEP care, and shared night/weekend home call, with teaching

Qualifications

• MD or DO or equivalent degree required.
• Completion of an accredited Pediatric Infectious Diseases fellowship.
• Board-certified or board-eligible in Pediatric Infectious Diseases.
• Eligible for New York State medical license.
• Commitment to clinical excellence, education, and academic medicine.
• Interest in research, program development, advocacy or stewardship preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide inpatient pediatric infectious disease consultation services.
• Deliver outpatient Infectious Disease and HIV/PrEP clinical care.
• Participate in shared night and weekend home call coverage.
• Teach and supervise medical students, residents, and other learners.
• Mentor trainees in clinical research and scholarly activities.
• Contribute to antimicrobial stewardship, infection prevention, advocacy, and program development initiatives.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across the Children's Hospital.

Education

MD or DO or equivalent degree

Completion of an accredited Pediatric Infectious Diseases fellowship program

Board-certified or board-eligible in Pediatric Infectious Diseases

Eligible for New York State medical license

Commitment to clinical excellence, education, and academic medicine
