Job summary

Albany Medical College is seeking fellowship-trained Pediatric Anesthesiologists to join our team of six pediatric anesthesia faculty. The role offers opportunities to practice in a collaborative, academically focused environment within the Capital Region's only academic medical center.

Responsibilities include safe anesthesia care for infants and children in various settings, teaching residents and students, and engaging in clinical research.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree (or equivalent).
• Completion of an ACGME-accredited Anesthesiology residency.
• Fellowship training in Pediatric Anesthesiology (required).
• Eligible for New York State medical licensure.
• Board-eligible or board-certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology, or foreign equivalent recognized by the ABA.
• Competitive base salary range of $391,000-$428,000 commensurate with rank.
• Compensation of ~$25,000 for pediatric pager call plus additional pay if called in.
• Generous sign on bonus of $45,000 and relocation of $7,500.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, high-quality anesthesia care for infants, children, and adolescents in inpatient and outpatient settings.
• Deliver didactic and hands-on instruction for residents, medical students, and student nurse anesthetists.
• Participate in or initiate clinical research projects; scholarly activity is supported and encouraged.
• Work closely with surgeons, nurses, and other perioperative team members to optimize patient outcomes.
• Provide guidance and support for trainees and junior faculty in professional and academic growth.
