Job summary

Albany Medical College seeks fellowship-trained pediatric anesthesiologists to join six pediatric anesthesia faculty in an academically focused team within the Capital Region's only academic medical center.

Responsibilities include perioperative care for a broad range of pediatric cases, resident education, and opportunities for clinical research, collaboration with surgeons and perioperative staff, and mentorship of trainees.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree (or equivalent).
• Completion of an ACGME-accredited Anesthesiology residency.
• Fellowship training in Pediatric Anesthesiology (required).
• Eligible for New York State medical licensure.
• Board-eligible or board-certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology, or foreign equivalent recognized by the ABA.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, high-quality anesthesia care for infants, children, and adolescents in inpatient and outpatient settings.
• Deliver didactic and hands-on instruction for residents, medical students, and student nurse anesthetists.
• Participate in or initiate clinical research projects; scholarly activity is supported and encouraged.
• Work closely with surgeons, nurses, and other perioperative team members to optimize patient outcomes.
• Provide guidance and support for trainees and junior faculty in professional and academic growth.
