Job summary

Albany Medical College is seeking fellowship-trained Pediatric Anesthesiologists at all ranks to join our academic pediatric anesthesia faculty in the Capital Region's only academic medical center.

The role focuses on perioperative care across multiple specialties, including general pediatric surgery, orthopedics, ENT, urology, cardiac surgery, and neonatal cases, with opportunities for MRI, interventional radiology, and cardiac catheterization anesthesia.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree required.
• Completion of an ACGME-accredited Anesthesiology residency.
• Fellowship training in Pediatric Anesthesiology (required).
• Eligible for New York State medical licensure.
• Board-eligible or board-certified by ABA, or foreign equivalent recognized by ABA.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, high-quality anesthesia care for infants, children, and adolescents in inpatient and outpatient settings.
• Deliver didactic and hands-on instruction for residents, medical students, and student nurse anesthetists.
• Participate in or initiate clinical research projects; scholarly activity is supported and encouraged.
• Work closely with surgeons, nurses, and other perioperative team members to optimize patient outcomes.
• Provide guidance and support for trainees and junior faculty in professional and academic growth.
