Job summary
Albany Medical Center is seeking a Pathologists' Assistant to join the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine. This role focuses on complex and diverse surgical pathology with autonomy and collaborative work with pathologists and residents.

Responsibilities
- Perform gross examination, description, dissection, and sampling of surgical pathology specimens.
- Evaluate and prepare tissue for intraoperative consultation and frozen section with pathologists.
- Photograph and document gross specimens and ensure proper orientation and submission.
- Serve as a resource for difficult specimens and promote high-quality grossing practices.
- Teach and mentor pathology residents and other learners in gross examination and techniques.
- Collaborate with pathologists, residents, histology staff, OR personnel, and leadership to improve quality and workflow.
- Participate in quality improvement, procedure development, validation, and education initiatives.
